Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2007
The seeds for Domaine Drouhin Oregon (DDO) were planted when a wine from Oregon’s Eyrie Vineyards, placed a close second to a Drouhin Grand Cru Burgundy at a tasting held in Drouhin’s own cellars in Beaune (Burgundy). Thus when Robert Drouhin was told about the chance to buy a prime vineyard site in Oregon he leapt at the chance. This wine, made by Veronique Drouhin-Boss has an expressive nose of lilac and violet blossoms, and a wild array of red and black fruits, white pepper, clove and orange peel. The body is rich and the finish long and silky, suggesting an ideal aging of 7 to 10 years.
