New Zealand is now rated by many as the most reliable source of Pinot Noir wines, especially wines from the cooler Martinborough region and the Central Otago region of the South Island. Wine writer James Haillday said, “This is God's Country when it comes to Pinot Noir”. The British were amongst the first to pick up on New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and now it is evident that New Zealand Pinot Noir is the next big thing. Kiwi winemakers aren’t afraid to use the latest winemaking techniques, but their passion and love of the grape still comes through in these fantastic wines.
