Schubert Block B Pinot Noir 2006
Grown in the much-commended Martinborough region this wine shows intense black cherry, black currant and floral notes. Fruitiness combines with meaty, fleshy aromas and a touch of smoke and tobacco. Quite full-bodied with a richness but still very elegantly textured and the acidity giving a refreshing character. Whilst surprisingly open already it has plenty of tight but fine tannins for a long development.
